About this Product
"I'm always walkin' after midnight, searching for you..."- "Walkin' After Midnight", Alan Block, Don Hecht
This 80% merino/20% nylon hand-dyed sock yarn is a blend of rich navy and midnight blues.
Size: 400 yds/100 g per skein. One skein should be enough to make a decent-sized scarf or cowl, many different types or patterns of shawls, or a pair of adult medium socks, although your mileage may vary.
NEW: I now offer a tube-cranking service for sock yarn: Your yarn will come to you cranked into one long stockinette tube. All you need to do is add cuffs, toes and afterthought heels and voila! A pair of socks! Or else your yarn can be cranked into two equal tubes, with waste yarn knitted in where the heel will go.
This option can be selected at checkout - $7.00 extra for a single tube, or $10 extra for two tubes with the afterthought heel marked. Just select the option you like and note your shoe size.
Colors: I do my best to represent colors accurately. However, there may be some differences between colors shown on your monitor or screen and the product's true color, depending on the type and settings of your monitor or screen. If you have any questions or concerns, please send me a convo!
Care: Machine wash cool (ideally on a gentle cycle) or handwash in warm soapy water. Lay flat to dry.
Dyeing Process: All my yarns are commercially-milled and hand-dyed by me in my tiny kitchen using acid dyes. My studio (okay, my apartment, let's not get too precious here) is smoke-free and I process all my yarns with fragrance-free detergents. However, I do have a cat. He's more of a silent partner, but because of him I can't guarantee my products are free of allergens for those folks who can't handle cat dander.
Bleeding: I take great care in ensuring that my yarns are colorfast and that they are well-rinsed before shipping out, but it's possible to experience a little bit of bleeding during the first few washings as excess dye is rinsed out of the yarn. This can be influenced by the colors used (red and blue are common culprits) and by the hardness of your washing water. If the bleeding is excessive or persists after more than a few washings, let me know.
