About this Product

NICE DAY FOR A LIGHT SWEATER: Light blend of whites, silvery blues, and dusky greens, with dirty brown and black speckles. This is part of my Collection of Misheard Song Lyrics, coming from the old Billy Idol song that's of course the favorite of every knitter and crocheter, "White Wedding". It's a nice day for a light sweater! It's a nice day for a cardigaaaaaaaaannnnnnn!

Base: MEZZO is a lovely 100% superwash merino DK weight, with 231 yds/100 g per skein. One skein should be enough to make a decent-sized cowl, a hat, some smaller scarf or shawlette patterns, or a pair of mittens, although your mileage may vary. Wool is sourced from South America and is mulesing-free.

Colors: I do my best to represent colors accurately. However, there may be some differences between colors shown on your monitor or screen and the product's true color, depending on the type and settings of your monitor or screen. If you have any questions or concerns, please send me a convo!

Care: Machine wash cool/cold (ideally on a gentle cycle) or handwash in warm soapy water. Your water temperature should be less than 104F or 40C, temperatures any higher can start to deteriorate the bond between the dye and the yarn. Lay flat to dry or tumble dry low. This yarn is machine-washable! However, the gentler you can be when washing your handmade item, the longer it will last, which makes sense. I don't recommend color-safe bleach and definitely don't recommend regular bleach. Iron with a warm iron on the wool setting (if your iron has a wool setting) and with steam (if your iron has a steam setting).

Dyeing Process: All my yarns are commercially-milled and hand-dyed by me in my tiny kitchen using acid dyes. I take great care in ensuring that my yarns are colorfast and that they are well-rinsed before shipping out, but it's possible to experience a little bit of bleeding during the first few washings as excess dye is rinsed out of the yarn. This can be influenced by the colors used (red and blue are common culprits) and by the hardness and temperature of your washing water. If the bleeding is excessive or persists after more than a few washings, let me know.
